Privacy policy

This policy explains how Captivated Ltd handles personal data on this website, auto-suite.app, and in the launch-news emails you can sign up for here. Each Auto· app has its own website and its own privacy policy, which covers the app itself.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Captivated Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15936109, with its registered office at Electric Works C/O Captivated Ltd, 3 Concourse Way, Sheffield, United Kingdom, S1 2BJ. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZC010118. You can reach us about privacy at [email protected].

2. The short version

Browsing this site needs no account and sets no cookies. If you sign up for launch news, we keep your email address so we can send you those emails and nothing else. The Auto· apps themselves are local-first: they keep your work on your own computer and do not send it to us.

3. What we collect

When you sign up for launch news

• Your email address, and whether your subscription is pending, confirmed or ended.
• A record of your consent: when you signed up and confirmed, the page you signed up on, your browser's user-agent string, and a one-way salted hash of your IP address. We never store the IP address itself.
• Delivery records such as bounces and unsubscribes, so we stop sending to addresses that cannot or should not receive email.

The sign-up form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that you are a person rather than a bot. Turnstile processes information about your browser to do this and does not use it for advertising.

We do not open-track or click-track our emails.

When you browse this site

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request data such as your IP address in order to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We usePlausible for cookieless website analytics, which produces aggregate statistics such as page views and referrers and does not identify you.

4. Why we process it

• Consent, for launch-news emails. You give it by signing up and confirming, and you can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
• Legitimate interests, for running and securing this website and for keeping the consent record that shows we may email you.

We use your email only to send launch news about the Auto· apps and the suite. We never use it to promote anything else, and signing up here never adds you to any other list.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your subscription until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After you unsubscribe, we keep your address on a suppression list so we never email you again by mistake. If you ask us to erase your data, we delete it from the live database straight away. Our database provider keeps point-in-time backups for about 30 days, so erased data remains in those backups until they expire.

6. Who processes it for us

We do not sell your personal data. We use a small number of processors:

• Cloudflare: website hosting, the subscriber database (stored in western Europe), and Turnstile bot protection.
• Mailgun (a Sinch company): sending our emails, using its EU region, which keeps recipient data in the EU.
• Plausible: cookieless, aggregate website analytics.

When the suite goes on sale, payments will be handled by a merchant of record, who processes billing details under its own privacy policy. We will name it here before any purchase is possible.

7. International transfers

Your subscriber data is stored in the EU. Cloudflare and Mailgun are, however, US-incorporated companies, so we rely on the safeguards in their data-processing agreements, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and Standard Contractual Clauses, for any access from outside the UK and EU.

8. Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email[email protected] and we will respond within the statutory time limits.

9. Cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising or cross-site tracking. Plausible analytics is cookieless, so there is no cookie banner.

10. Children

The Auto· apps are professional tools for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version, and we will point out material changes here.

12. Complaints

If you have a concern we haven't resolved, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us.
